- Past and Current Housing Lottery Timeline
- Housing info. sessions begin in October
- Housing info. sessions in November, December, and January
- Housing Expo at end of January
- Following Housing Expo are mosey, West Campus, Collegetown, and then program houses
- Housing lottery open in January and close in February
- Housing lottery is completely randomized, no matter when you decide to sign up for a time slot
- Transfer Students
- Housing applications open starting in September
- There is always a process going on
- Contracts
- Cornell only cancels contracts due to absentia (i.e. studying abroad)
- Cornell releases occupancy if freshman wants to move into co-op for spring semester
Altering Timeline of Housing Lottery Discussion
- Open housing lottery earlier to allot more time for conversation with friends and family
- Major issue is the pressure to sign early leases for housing off-campus
- Another issue is the deeply ingrained mentality that sophomores are supposed to be on West Campus
