III. Business of the Day
Guideline changes/ Recruitment details/ Commissioner interviews
D. Gusz started off the meeting by asking group leaders to present their proposed sections of the guideline changes.
L. Kogos presented his group’s proposed changes to Chapter 9. For section 9.1, he thought it should be clarified what documentation is needed to register for mailboxes and first aid supplies. For section 9.2 under local events, he suggested there should be a subsection addressing rehearsals specifically. Also, he added that it might be subjective how many nights are needed to fund lodging for a local event speaker or group travel. He also added that some men and women’s teams of the same sport have requested joint funding for a durable good, and perhaps the guidelines should address this for future club sports.
D. Gusz asked the commissioners what they thought of these changes, or if anyone wanted something to add.
J. Min addressed one of L. Kogos’s proposals, and said that the guidelines allow groups to request one more night of lodging funding as needed.
B. Schreff thought that it might be worth putting a clause in about funding for an extra night for consistency’s sake.
C. Feng said that we could put it into a resolution, and vote on it next time.
D. Wong talked about some of his group’s proposals for Chapter 3. He thought that parts of the section on eligible items were too general for groups. He also questioned whether a maximum of three representatives at budget hearings as stated in the guidelines is actually followed.
C. Feng commented that the line about the number of representatives allowed at budget hearings is superfluous.
C. Lee discussed some of the difficulties in clarity in Chapter 5, specifically about the caps and percentage cuts.
D. Fernandes added that most of section 6.3 can be taken out, because of the changes made to the whole appeals process.
C. Feng said that this has already been adjusted online.
G. Kang also added that section 11.2 needs reformatting.
C. Feng then went into details for recruitment and new commissioner interviews.
IV. Meeting was adjourned at 5:20 pm.
