From the Cornell Assemblies
The commission no longer accepts late submissions, including funding requests, appeals, and spending requests. Deadlines are established to assure the commission can allocate funds in a fair and timely manner.
Appeals are now allowed only in situations where the commission erred either in its application of rules or in its findings of fact. If an organization has new circumstances or opportunities after the regular budget deadline, it may request information using the Special Request form and procedure. Appeals on the basis of new information are no longer permitted.
Organizations must now submit documentation of air travel costs for guest speakers, performers, and troupes, if they are traveling by airplane. The commission will fund the airfare cost if it is less than the IRS mileage rate.
Organizations may request funding for events that raise funding for charity if the events have another equally substantive purpose related to the mission of the organization. For example, the commission may fund a charity concert held by a musical performance organization. The commission, however, would not fund a charity banquet held by a dance organization.
Organizations that submit appeals must schedule and attend a hearing with the commission.
