SA: Resolution 38: Establishing a New Events Calendar

Sponsored by: Juliana Batista ‘16, Ian Harris ‘16

Whereas, student organizations, academic departments and other members of the Cornell community host many great events on campus on a daily basis;

Whereas, the campus is large and decentralized. It is often hard to hear about various events occurring on campus each given night;

Whereas, other peer institutions have systems that efficiently and conveniently organize campus events and communicate the information to the student body;

Whereas, Cornell University has a comparable system, the Events Calendar, which is currently underutilized by student organizations;

Whereas, if the Events Calendar was used regularly and efficiently, Cornell undergraduates would be able to find events and programs on campus;

Be is therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly recommends a Pilot Program for the Events Calendar to increase students’ usage of the system;

Be it further resolved, that the Student Assembly collaborate with Student and Academic Services communication staff as well as staff in the Student Activities Office to assure a productive Pilot Program;

Be it further resolved, that the Student Assembly recommends all students and student organizations use the Events Calendar whenever they organize events.
