SA: S.A. Resolution # 22: Urging Mandatory Sexual Assault & Rape Education During Orientation

Sponsored by: Geoffrey Block ‘14 Narda Terrones ‘14

Whereas, the Student Assembly “shall seek out and voice effectively the interests and concerns of the student body”

Whereas, students are concerned with the education they receive regarding consensual sex, sexual assault & rape

Whereas, Orientation is one of the most effective ways to educate new students in large groups

Be it therefore resolved, that the SA urge the Orientation Steering Committee & The Assistant Dean of Students in New Student Programs to create a mandatory educational program during Orientation Week that educates new students on sexual assault, rape, and the meaning of verbal, ongoing consent.

Respectfully Submitted,
