Resolution 45: Student Assembly Support of a Tiered CUid Replacement System
Sponsored by: Peter Scelfo ‘15, Alexander Bores ‘13
Whereas, the 2011–2012 academic year is the first year since 2006 that students are being charged for first time CUid replacements in hopes to encourage responsibility and,
Whereas, staff and faculty do not directly pay for their CUid replacements and,
Whereas, the Student Body feels as though losing your CUid one time with its necessary excessive use to access meals, dorms, buses, gyms etc. in four years is inevitable for a reasonable student and not irresponsible and,
Whereas, the Student Body feels as though Cornell is “nickel and diming” the students and,
Whereas, the Student Body finds the $40 replacement fee for first time replacements costly and excessive to the already exorbitant expenses of college.
Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Body supports a tiered pricing system, an increasing set amount based on how many times the student loses their CUid and,
Be it further resolved, that the set amount will be determined jointly by a Student Assembly Representative and the University Registrar and,
Be it finally resolved, that the University Registrar and the Student Assembly Representative will cap the price of the CUid replacement jointly and responsibly.
Respectfully Submitted,
