Rationale of the Committee
Many members of the Committee felt that the B.L.U.E. shuttle provides students with safer options to return home from campus late at night in order to combat recent student safety concerns. Some were concerned with the low attendance figures from the Spring 2011 pilot program but many felt that the shuttle would have improved attendance with increased promotion in the future. Finally, some committee members felt that it was inappropriate to use the Student Activity Fee to fund a late night transportation shuttle, however, most felt that it was appropriate due to the improvements in student safety.
