SA: S.A. Resolution #15

Securing Transportation for Schuyler House Residents

Sponsored by: Geoffrey Block ‘14, Charlie Abbott ‘12, Janice Tung ‘13, Olufunmilayo Agunloye ‘12

Whereas, Schuyler House is geographically separated from much of the Cornell Campus

Whereas, This separation is significant enough that all residents of Schuyler House receive a complimentary bus pass

Whereas, Students rely on this bus service to attend class and be part of the Cornell Community

Whereas, There is currently the possibility of TCAT bus drivers going on strike

Whereas, This would pose a significant problem to residents of Schuyler House

Be it therefore resolved, that the S.A. urge Residential Programs and Cornell University to ensure a system of transportation for residents of Schuyler House in the event of a bus driver strike. This system should ensure students can attend class on time and also return at night to Schuyler House in a safe and timely manner

Be it further resolved, that the Residential Programs keep on file, a contingency plan in the event that a future disruption of transportation should occur for residents of Schuyler House

Respectfully Submitted,
