SA: S.A. Resolution 5: Student Assembly Meeting Accessibility

Whereas, many buildings on campus do not adhere to the American with Disabilities Act building standards that delineate accessibility requirements;

Whereas, the Student Assembly passed Resolution 69 in the spring of 2011, which advocated for campus-wide prioritization of hosting SAFC-funded events in buildings accessible to people with disabilities;

Whereas, the Student Assembly has held its own committee meetings in non-accessible locations;

Whereas, the Student Assembly represents all students and aims to include students in its dialogue and decision-making,

Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly will hold its committee meetings in locations that are accessible to students with disabilities, as noted by Cornell’s Student Disability Services division.

Respectfully Submitted,

Jennifer Kay ‘14
ILR Representative, Student Assembly
