The Appropriations Committee recommends that the SA approve eligibility for Slope Media Group by a vote of 13–0−0.

The Committee felt that Slope Media met all of the eligibility requirements for byline funding and exemplifies a highly demanded service at Cornell. In addition, committee members praised the aspiration of Slope Media to become more involved with student organizations at Cornell. The educational aspect of the organization was particularly appealing as well since the University has no hands-on undergraduate journalism & media program. Some committee members noted that byline funding would also contribute to the removal of dues so that more financially constrained students could get involved. Overall, the Committee feels that Slope Media Group addresses an unmet demand for media experience and programming on campus.

Please note that this does not indicate a guarantee of byline funding. If the SA approves eligibility, Slope Media will present their funding request to the Appropriations Committee later in the semester.
