From the Cornell Assemblies
Whereas Article V, Section 1 of the Student Assembly Charter reads: and
This charter may be amended at any regular meeting of the assembly by a two-thirds vote of the entire voting membership, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting. Amendments may be presented to the assembly by voting members and by community petition with at least 100 Cornell undergraduate student signatures.
Whereas the wording of Article V, Section I regarding the presentation of amendments to the Student Assembly for consideration is ambiguous;
Be it therefore resolved that Article V, Section 1 of the Student Assembly Charter be amended to read:
This charter may be amended at any regular meeting of the assembly by a two-thirds vote of the entire voting membership, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting. Amendments may be presented to the assembly by voting members or by community petition with at least 100 Cornell undergraduate student signatures.
Respectfully submitted,
