R. 49 New Group Application Review Committee

Whereas, the Student Activities Office has recently encountered problems with the application of a new group on campus and has asked for help from the SA.

Whereas, the Student Activity Office does not want to make any decisions without student input, inquiry, and deliberation.

Whereas, the Student Assembly recently passed and President Skorton has recently approved the Organizational Review Committee (Resolution 24) which is intended to address issues such as this, but will only come into effect in the Fall of 2010.

Whereas, there is no current procedure for groups to resolve conflicts between organizations.

Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly create an ad-hoc committee to assist the Student Activities Office in its current conflict between organizations it deems necessary.

Be it further resolved, that the Committee make all its decisions in collaboration with the Student Activities Office and present a final report to the SA.

Be it further resolved, that the Committee include both SA members and community members, to be appointed by the VP for Internal Operations.
