R. 48 Recognition of Cornell Nutritional Societies as an Umbrella Body for Food-Related Groups on Campus
Whereas, the Student Assembly passed R. 31 entitled “SA Organizational Review Committee & RSO Taskforce Recommendations” in an effort to monitor and regulate campus organizations with overlapping mission statements;
Whereas, various leaders of student groups on campus related to the fields of agriculture, food science, nutrition, horticulture, culinary, animal and dairy sciences have begun meeting regularly to coordinate their events and activities in an effort to identify potential opportunities for collaboration, promote interdisciplinary study, and reduce extraneous spending in the form of redundant events and projects.
Whereas, this alliance of student organizations requires no additional amount of funding;
Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly recognizes this coalition of student organizations as a functioning body to provide recommendations for all member groups to establish partnerships in the areas of event planning, fundraising, and community outreach.
