Whereas, the mission statement of the Cornell University Grounds Department states that it “provides quality services, consistent with responsible fiscal and environmental stewardship, to support the landscape maintenance, landscape construction, and solid waste management needs of the Cornell Community.”
Whereas, students cannot find garbage cans to dispose of their trash on North campus.
Whereas, students throw garbage and waste on the ground.
Whereas, the lack garbage cans causes the Facilities Services unnecessary additional work when picking up littered garbage.
Be it therefore resolved, the SA endorses the implementation of more garbage cans on North Campus. Please see the attached map which indicates the specific locations and numbers that most efficiently utilize the garbage cans.
