Status/Result: | New Business |
‘ ’ ‘Whereas, last month, in an effort to reduce the spread of H1N1 between university and K-12 students, Ithaca City School District Superintendent Dr. Judith Pastel indefinitely barred the majority of college students, including those from Cornell, from volunteering in district classrooms. *
Whereas, on October 11, Superintendent Pastel released the following statement, “After assessing the flu and its impact on our students and staff, I am pleased to welcome all college students to our classrooms as volunteers on Tuesday, October 13….”
Be it therefore resolved, that the SA supports Superintendent Pastel’s decision and will search for ways that Cornell students can become more involved in volunteering in the Ithaca City School District.
Respectfully submitted,
Adam Gitlin ‘13
Freshman Representative
