R.34 Appendix A Rules Clarification
Originally Presented On: | April 16, 2009 |
Sponsors: | Chris Basil |
Subject of Resolution: | Appendix A Rules Clarification |
Status/Result: |
Whereas, Appendix A of the Student Assembly Charter provides guidelines for the allocation of the Student Activity Fee;
Whereas, the Assembly recently passed R.24, a comprehensive review and revision of Appendix A, which included striking from Section IV, Part D a clause rounding the Student Activity Fee up to the nearest whole dollar and allocating that remainder to the SAFC;
Whereas, the Administration has found the Appendix A changes to be favorable. However, due to preferences for billing, the Bursar Office has requested that the Student Activity Fee be charged as a whole number and has requested that the language be formally reinstated into Appendix A;
Be it therefore resolved, that Appendix A of the Charter be amended so that Section IV, Part D, Item 3 reads as follows, with the addition bolded:
3. Should the total of the individual by-lines of the SAF not be a whole dollar amount, it shall be rounded up to the nearest whole-dollar, with the difference being allocated to the SAFC. The President of the Assembly will transmit its recommendation to the President for consideration by the last day of classes of the fall semester, including:
- the total amount of the SAF recommendation,
- the allocations of each by-line funded organization, and
- a short description of each organization
Respectfully submitted,
Christopher Basil
