ABSTRACT:

R.3 Resolution Regarding the Creation of Liaisons to Each Group Requesting By-line Funding

Whereas, there are many requirements for student groups to become a by-line funded organization, and

Whereas, each Student Assembly member should be well versed in these requirements, and

Whereas, there is no section included in Appendix A of the Student Assembly charter regarding a liaison to help these groups through the by-line funding process.

Be it therefore resolved, that each new applicant for by-line funding be assigned a Student Assembly liaison, and

Be it further resolved, that all returning groups also be assigned a Student Assembly member in the event that they need assistance with the funding process, and

Be it further resolved, that each liaison assist their designated group in understanding what is required of them, this not necessarily requiring the liaison to agree with the group, and

Be it further resolved, that the VP of Internal Operations and the VP for Finance collect a list including what group each Student Assembly member is interested in working with, and

Be it further resolved, that the VP of Internal Operations then appoint Student Assembly members, based on this list, to a group requesting funding, and

Be it finally resolved, that this list be approved by the Executive Committee upon completion, and

It is the sense of the body, that this liaison program be added to Appendix A of the Student Assembly Charter as soon as possibly following the fall semester.
