The preliminary/draft report of the Graduate Community Initiative Task Force written for President Skorton was distributed to the working group prior to the meeting.

The objective of the meeting was to review the document and make a decision on how to structure it for submission to the president. After much conversation, the report will be submitted with minor edits, including a paragraph describing the process and why the document is written in its current format, emphasizing the preliminary nature of the document, and its holding point of where the group is in its process.

Going forward, GCIWG meetings will be dedicated to one subcommittee, during which time each subcommittee’s recommendations will be vetted and prioritized. At the next meeting on February 5, the Graduate Center will be discussed to develop a vision for the Center and its function.

Following the Grad Center will be Career Services, Housing, then Graduate and Professional Life and Programs.

The meeting schedule for the spring semester will remain on alternating Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. — 6:00 p.m. in 341 Caldwell.
