March 29, 2013 Letter to President Skorton Re: R. 14
Dear President Skorton, I am delighted to present to you GPSA Resolution 14, which approves the 2013 Graduate and Professional Community Initiative (GPCI). Both Resolution 14 and the GPCI are attached here.
The GPSA has worked tirelessly this year to produce this collaborative, comprehensive, and strategic plan. We have worked with hundreds of graduate and professional students to solicit input and have drafted eight topic areas that comprehensively address issues in the graduate and professional student community. The eight topic areas are:
- Graduate and Professional Student Center
- Career Resources
- Mental Health and Physical Well-being
- Diversity and International Students
- Family Services
- Housing
- Transportation
- Sense of Community
Within each of these topic areas, you will find strategic objective and action statements that were developed with the input of various members of the administration. I hope that we can work on implementing together to improve the experience for graduate and professional students at Cornell. I look forward to meeting with you about the GPCI soon.
Thank you for your support in this process. Your enthusiasm for students and the GPSA helps us do what we do better!
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
All the best, Mitch
