Resolution 10: A Resolution Altering the GPSA Committee Staffing Process
Whereas, The majority of GPSA members are Field Representatives; and
Whereas, Over the past several years, there have been many efforts to find ways to foster increased engagement of the Field Representatives; and
Whereas, One of the primary responsibilities of the GPSA is staffing members to internal and university-wide (external) committees; and
Whereas, There has traditionally been difficulty in filling all vacancies; and
Whereas, Placing all field representatives on committees fulfills both the goals of efficiently filling vacancies and increasing engagement; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the following language be inserted before Section 4.03 (a)(ii) of the Charter:
2. Serve on, at minimum, one internal or university-wide (external) committee that is staffed by the GPSA. 13
RESOLVED, That the following language be inserted before Section 3.03(d)(iv)(1) of the Bylaws:
1. Each year, before the first meeting of the GPSA, develop a procedure for the placement of all field representatives on, at minimum, one committee, internal or university-wide (external).
