Resolution B: Extension of Meeting Time
Whereas, the GPSA is charged with the important work to consider and discuss the varied concerns of the graduate and professional student body; and Whereas, GPSA general and business meetings are held bi-weekly and both frequently exceed the one hour allotted for their duration; and Whereas, it is important for members to have accurate expectations of the time they will be required to invest to perform the business of the GPSA; and Whereas, it is recognized that when members leave GPSA meetings before GPSA business is concluded, maintaining a quorum is difficult and hence hampers the functioning of the body; Be it resolved that the GPSA extend both its general and business meetings from one to two hours. Be it further resolved, that the following change (in italics) be made to Section 2.1 of the GPSA Standing Rules and Special Rules of Order: Meetings of the GPSA shall be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
