I am a Junior in Arts and Sciences from Hisar, India. My motivation to run for this position arises from personal experiences at college with financial aid, cultural adjustments, and working in intercultural organizations. As the International Representative, I have facilitated establishment of International Students Union (which I had promised in my last campaign) and serve on Cornell’s Global on Campus committee to address problems related to career services and financial aid for international students. My key areas of focus for this year are below : � REPRESENTATION: Supporting and strengthening the International Students Union’s presence in advocacy, event planning and institutionalizing international student representation. � CAREERS: Working with Career Services to recognize more internships that sponsor so as to increase career opportunities for international students. � LOGISTICAL SUPPORT: Developing a cost effective solution for winter and summer storage for international students; enhancing on-campus dining facilities during short breaks; improving the orientation programs for international transfer students. Lets shift our perspectives of viewing challenges international students face as opportunities!
