Hi everyone, my name is Luke Bushner and I’m a freshman in Arts & Sciences majoring in physics. I will use my position to ensure that the interests of all students are heard and that your ideas are implemented. As your representative, I will advocate for: 1. Financial Transparency: With an increasing tuition and decreasing student services, I will fight for accountability and transparency in all university finances, and I will ensure that students have a voice in the financial decision-making process. 2. Open Course Evaluations: All students have the right to read reviews of professors and their classes before enroll in courses, and I will make evaluations useful and available for next semesters’ students to use. 3. Arts & Sciences Council: To open up the lines of communication between A&S students and our deans and faculty, I will spearhead a council that weeks monthly to review and revise academic policy and advocate for student input Above all else, I’m motivated to making the Student Assembly an effective outlet for students to create meaningful change on our campus. Push for Bush to create a better College of Arts & Sciences.

Hey A&S! My name is Mitch and I am asking for your vote because I am passionate about increasing the student voice, and after serving on a Student Assembly Committee, I see that it’s time for much needed change: 1. Professor Accountability: If there are multiple consistent complaints regarding the teaching quality of a professor, the department chair should be obligated to investigate the grievances and subsequently take appropriate action that could include notifying the department faculty of the concern. 2. Financial Transparency: Audits of club expenditures and disclosure of A&S budgets should be conducted to ensure the appropriate use of student funds. Unneeded funds will be returned to the students. 3. Stronger Ties within Majors: After application process, 3 students in each major will lead their area of study and will spearhead academic and social networking activities in order to improve peer relations. These are a few important improvements to A&S that need to be made, but ultimately I am running to augment your voice and hear your ideas. This is our campus. Cornell is our school. If elected, I promise that I will work every day to increase YOUR power to govern YOUR institution. SWITCH TO MITCH!

I want to bring greater levels of transparency between the interactions of the SA and the student body. I was appalled by the way the health fee was decided without more active student voices present. I believe that regular town hall type meetings and more frequent email updates are necessary to keep the student body informed in pressing decisions. I also would like to push for an all-college Student Bill of Rights that would clearly outline what students can expect to and not to be faced with during their time on this campus. Lastly, I believe a second meal swipe location on Central Campus would be prudent to alleviating mid day crowding at Okenshields and alleviating the weight on students BRBs.
