Whereas the limited membership of the Employee Assembly (the Assembly) has encumbered its ability to achieve important goals, particularly in assuring adequate representation in its committees and the committees of other assemblies,

Whereas the Assembly believes more employees would be interested to serve if the number of seats were increased from thirteen to nineteen,

Whereas the Assembly believes that more employees would be eligible and interested to serve if current statutory and endowed restrictions were removed,

Whereas the Assembly believes that such a change would not significantly affect its ability to represent the diverse opinions and viewpoints of the campus community,

Be it therefore resolved that the Assembly adopts the attached amendment to its charter,

Be it further resolved that this resolution be transmitted, with attachments, to the President for his approval.
